Not Quite Cooperstown

Tonight was Chloe’s last tball game. Likely ever. She did well. Picked a couple flowers. Faced away from homeplate and danced a little dance while playing the hot corner. Let’s face it, she’s an intimidating presence in the field. No even tried to hit the ball her way.

And maybe, just maybe, Cooperstown is in her future.  Her stats for the season are pretty good:

  • Perfect batting average,
  • Reached base on every at bat, and
  • Scored everytime she reached base.

There aren’t too many people, even in the Hall, who can boast statistics like those.  Granted, her slugging percentage was nonexistent, nothing more than a single all year.  Plus she only had about a dozen at bats, but so what, we are obviously dealing with world class talent.

We’re proud of her, she did well. She even stopped biting to protest attendance after the second game.  She wanted to try, and she did it.  She wanted to quit, but we wouldn’t let her.  Hopefully she learned a few things.  Even if one of them is that she doesn’t want to play again.
