The plan for today is to start the trip up to Sedona around mid-morning and hopefully get to see a four places before wearing out.
First on the list is Chapel of the Holy Cross, which is a very unique chapel carved into the side of a cliff. It features steel and glass and provides an overlook into the valley below.
Next is Boynton Canyon, a very famous box canyon that is widely known in new age circles for its vortexes. While the Boynton Canyon trail is likely too long of a hike to do with all the kids at 5 miles round trip, we may hike park of it.
Devil’s Bridge is a natural arch over the canyon below. It is pretty narrow and very exposed. In fact the pictures make it look like it will crumble any minute. Tim wants to do jumping jacks on it, which we all encouraged, but likely won’t let him do.
The last stop will be Slide Rock State Park which is known as a local recreational area based on its natural water slides and cliff jumping. Tim’s face lit up like a kid at Christmas when he heard about it, so there’s no way we couldn’t go. In fact, it became the scheduling basis of our trip today. Apparently it can be pretty busy on the weekends, so we are planning a stop here last, and hopefully late in the day.
I will be updating withvpeiodic things throughout the day depending on cell coverage, time, and the urgency of watching for snakes and poisonous lizards. Sounds perfect.

Sounds like fun fun fun please protect my son from doing something like jumping jacks although it does sound like an experience . Enjoy the trip it is a wonderful part of the country….. loved going there many years ago. Be careful and we will talk again. Love from the Wana’s
